The research activities are conducted at the Poznan University of Life Sciences Field Station, located in Rzecin and operated by the Laboratory of Bioclimatology. Interdisciplinary research is conducted at the background peatland site, integrating micrometeorological, biogeochemical, remote sensing, hydrological, and atmospheric monitoring methods. Studies include i.e., research on carbon cycling and greenhouse gas exchange (CO₂ and CH₄), ongoing since 2004, as well as investigations into the effects of changing climatic conditions on peatland structure and function (since 2014). Additionally, atmospheric research, including aerosol and cloud studies (since 2018), enables the identification of interactions between the atmosphere and the ecosystem, further assessing the impacts of climate change on peatland functioning. Within the framework of ACTRIS, the station conducts Aerosol and Cloud Remote Sensing measurements.
